Changes are a'comin'

I have decided I have A.D.D. and change is my drug of choice. If I'm not being challenged or entertained by my surroundings, I have no problem leaving the situation. Right now, I'm heading back to school for (drum roll, please).... MY SENIOR YEAR! Whoever told us college would fly by was exactly right. Time waits for no one and I'm ok with that. The more I live the more I take sayings like "carpe diem" seriously. There is one phrase though that is revolutionizing my life: "who of you can add one day to his life by worrying?" Learning to not sweat the small stuff and simply trust in the One who made us is such a simple yet huge concept. A child understands it, takes it and runs with it. I, however, understand it, take it and don't know what to do with it. Then I realize, after I've worried over not worrying, it's time to be that kid again. I can't control much AT ALL so I'll let it go and let it be. what a relief. that very action in and of itself is very freeing and it makes change much more enjoyable. here's to a new school year. cheers!

iPod, therefore I am

Ever since I was a wee one, I have loved music. The first CD I remember singing along with was Phantom of the Opera. Weird? yes. Amazing? oh yes. I think God created music just for me. Sometimes we can't find the words to express what is happening in a life but a song can often peg exactly what is being experienced. No matter what various beliefs we have as humans, music often brings opposite ends of the spectrums together on level playing fields. And yes, I am grateful for my iPod. :)
